Riviera Surgery LLP Safeguarding Adult Policy

This policy applies to adults with care and support needs that come into contact with the services we provide.

Our aim as a company is that all people coming under our care feel safe, and to trust we will act professionally and ethically if an adult safeguarding need is highlighted to us by the NHS Trust or Private Healthcare Provider we are contracted to work for. Or a adult safeguarding issue if identified by our employees as new concern when the patient is using our services.

To comply with statutory requirements and to ensure total transparency and objectivity, our safeguarding work is channeled through the Safeguarding Adults Board within the Trust or Private Healthcare Provider we contract for. We ensure as part of the process of engagement with the Trust or Private Healthcare Provider our employees familiarise themselves with our policy and report any safeguarding issues to their Riviera line manager or the Trust line manager on the day of their assignment.

If a safeguarding issue is identified with any patient we treat by the Trust or Private Healthcare Provider prior to us treating them, we (Riviera) will make sure their case is passed through the Trust or Private Healthcare Provider safeguarding team and any recommendations actioned as part of that patients care pathway.

Safeguarding adults is everyone’s business, If our employee’s see, hear or suspect abuse in any way, they are instructed to report it to their line manager.
